every morning she makes
two packed lunches
one for herself
one for the homeless man
down the road
and every morning when
she hands him his lunch
and he smiles, a heavy load
is lifted off her shoulders
she smiles back
-behold-
he looks her in the eye
never does he shy
away in shame, but instead
he exclaims with a
certain humility and grace-
'God Bless!'
